NEW TO BLACKBERRY...I HAVE LOST ALL MY APPLICATIONS ON MY PHONE. PLEASE HELP!

Hope someone can please help me...  I purchased a 2nd hand Blackberry 8310 Curve  only a week ago, and I have just accidentally deleted a folder that has deleted ALL my applications and now I am unable to do anything.  I was given a Blackberry User Tools Disc with my phone, but that doesn't work in my computer it says I have inserted a blank disc???  My computer runs on Windows Vista.  I hope someone can help me, what do/can I do?  Is there a disc or something to back up and restore applications I have lost??  Please help.  kiwichick09

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Can you tell us what folder you deleted?

At the home screen press the menu key and select show hidden.

See if your icons come back. Also at the home screen go to options, advanced options, applications.

Do you see any of your applications?

I'll have your thread moved to the 8300 series forums so we can work with you in more detail.

Thanks,

I cannot remember what folder I deleted... I am on the main screen and the only symbol showing is Profiles in the bottom right hand corner, and Applications in bottom left hand corner-but when I click on Applications there is nothing there it's blank.  I have nothing what-so-ever :-(  How many dumb-asses like me do you come across (sigh).

Hi,

New doesn't equal "dumb".

New people ask questions, dumb people don't! Smiley Wink

No data will be lost when doing the following: pull the battery while the device is ON.
Replace after a minute, Let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is fixed.

Thanks,

Re: NEW TO BLACKBERRY...I HAVE LOST ALL MY APPLICATIONS ON MY PHONE. PLEASE HELP!

try pressin your "o" key and see if it brings up options, if so go to themes and change themes

if not, i would do a backup through desktop manager and do a reset to factory

in order to do the reset to factory you will need to have DTM 4.7

plug in BB with DTM closed

then go to start- run and type

cmd

press enter

black screen comes up

type

cd c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

press enter

type

loader.exe /resettofactory

press enter

once device has rebooted you should have everything back but your personal data

use DTM to restore your backup

Re: NEW TO BLACKBERRY...I HAVE LOST ALL MY APPLICATIONS ON MY PHONE. PLEASE HELP!

I've just tried pressing the "o" key and it goes straight through to find something to dial, but I have no contacts as there is no address book.  I am not very computer literate and this is all new to me, where do I get DTM 4.7 from please?
