Need MEP code to unlock my phone - ???

i have an att blackberry bold but want to use t-mobile.  att says my phone is not eligible for unlocking, they can't give me the MEP code.  supposedly, this proclaimation comes to them from blackberry.  does anyone know how i can get blackberry to unlock my phone?  i've called att three times and i feel like they're not giving it to me because they don't want me to sign up w/t-mobile.  note: i don't currently have cell service.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Whoever you spoke to at ATT was either misinformed or has some other information that they are not revealing. The carriers control the unlock codes...RIM does not. You can research fee-based unlocking services here:

But, it would be very interesting to know why ATT is refusing. For instance, if a BB is in the master database as stolen or lost, then the carriers typically honor such things and refuse to help...

Good luck!
