Need to Remove Return Receipt on Outgoing Email!

A few weeks ago, my Blackberry World Edition started requiring recipients of my emails to send a return receipt when they receive my emails that are sent from my phone.  My email addresses are not configured to request read receipts, so I assume it's a setting on my phone.  I can't find it!  Any suggestions on how to change my settings to remove the receipt request?

To sort the issue go to Messages -> click the menu and selectOptions -> Select email settings -> Set the value to No in Confirm Read and Send Read Receipt.

I had the 2 values set to "NO" and I still get a return receipt. Is this to do with the Confirm Delivery option being "YES" ?

 

IT only seems to happen on my IMAP Gmail account.

Request delivery or read confirmation for email messages


Verify that your BlackBerry® device is associated with an email account that uses the BlackBerry® Internet Service.
1. In a message list, press the Menu key.
2. Click Options.
3. Click Email Settings.
4. In the Delivery Status Notification section, perform any of the following actions:
• To send read notification when a sender requests it, change the Send Read Receipts field.
• To request delivery or read notification when you send email messages, change the Confirm Delivery and Confirm Read
fields.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Save.

Thanks for the information.

I'm having so much trouble getting my Gmail and Comcast accounts to stay in sync that I've downloaded the Gmail app and it shows me everything in my Gmail inbox. Seems pretty slick so far.

Previously if I deleted an email in Thunderbird or via the internet the Blackberry wouldbn't update. Weird.

Hello tanzim, I was going through the steps you indicated but did not find the confirm read and send read receipt option on my BB. Is this a model specific? I have a Blackberry Curve 8300 v4.2.2.166 using Lotus Notes for email. Thanks! I also found two articles in their KB: Doc ID KB12252 and Doc ID KB04764, one is indicating that it is not supported by design, the other article is showing how to allow return receipts on the BES - which I followed but I still don't have the option on my device.

Problem is you are on BES - BES based units don't have as much control over read receipts etc. as BIS users have.
