Need to WIPE new!!

Good description of what is really wrong and how to reproduce if possible. Details of what you did before: The little clock is always "ticking"! I need to reset with a battery puil all the time and the battery consumes every time I do this. Also the free space is 0 before the battery pull and when I turn it on again I have free space again. All the time I have white screens asking to either reset or delete applications. Whats wrong? I don't have many applications, I give it a regular use and it's only a year old!

Device info

Your carrier: Telcel

Model info and OS version (Go to Settings, then Options, then about):

Blackberry 9000 smartphone (3G, Wi-fi)

v5.0.0.1036

Apps and free space

File free before and after a battery remove/replace. (Go to Settings, then Options, then status): 0 before battery pull. 12708845 bytes after battery pull. (I gives me less and less "file free" space every second!)

Did a battery pull fix your issue? Issue comes back every time!! Sometimes immediately after turning it back on.

Apps installed and their version if possible.   (Go to Settings, then Options, then applications):

Third-Party

PingChat! 2.4.4.2

WhatsApp Messenger 2.6.7421

Add-on

Blackberry Appworld 2.1.4.9

Blackberry Messenger 6.0.0.129

Blackberry Protect 1.0.10.25

Documents To Go 2.0003.030

Facebook 2.0.0.45

Memopad 5.0.0

Tasks 5.0.0

Twitter 2.0.0.16

Core

Blackberry 5.0.0 Core App

Blackberry 5.0.0 System

Browser 5.0.0

Email Setup Application 5.0.0

Phone 5.0.0

When writing your question

Any other details that would help us out with your issue: I have done every update, always sync with my Desktop Manager, tried a wipe out with the "support" instructions, nothing works! It's already been sent to "repair" and it always comes back with the same issues. It's getting worse every day, lately not even with a battery pull the issue will go away. HELP!! I want my blackberry as good as new!! It's only a year old!

You need to work to get that File Free AFTER battery pull upwards of 25mb file free.

There are several things you can do to achieve this... move ALL pictures and media to the media card.

Limit your BBM Chat Groups, those claim lots of memory.

Re: Need to WIPE new!!

Hi,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I already did all that before, check everything of media is at the media card, delete languages, delete BBM groups, etc... I think what I need is to wipe new and try and see if it stops the issue.

Re: Need to WIPE new!!

Well, apparently you haven't done it ALL, or your device would not be at 0mb, eh?

Anyway, so then wipe your device.

Do a backup first, using the BlackBerry Desktop Software.

You will need to use BBSAK or JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:  http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F
For BBSAK, here is the link: http://bbsak.org/

Then, reload the OS per my instructions below.

Then selectively restore the items you MUST have, like the Address Book, Calendar, etc., but don't do a complete full restore or you'll likely end up back where you started.

See the link below for the download, and follow these simple installation instructions.

First locate your carrier and the OS file you wish to use.
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

Re: Need to WIPE new!!

Well, yeah.. You're right I didn't do it ALL... I meant I did everything you said in the previous post.... I read the blog you sent me earlier and all the loading instructions are for DM for PC and I'm working a mac... I'll try the wipe then.

Thanks again.

Re: Need to WIPE new!!

You're going to need a PC.

Good luck.

Re: Need to WIPE new!!

[ Edited ]

I did the wipe and it's working smoothly so far... The thing is I have a new question... Why if I only have a couple of apps installed, the storage (128 MB) is already almost full!? I mean... If I added all my apps MB they shouldnt be more than 13 MB... Where are the rest of the MB consumed?
