Network Problem

Dear Friends,

i have a Hungary made BB-3G 9300, nov-2011. i was facing some problems with the NETWORK RECEPTION of the phone.  i tried to contact the nearest BB service centre but they refused to repair it, reason being the phone is from England(UK) and not INDIA instead ( p.s.i got this  phone as a gift from a friend of mine who resides in England).

Now, i fail to understand, why the service centre people are not taking my phone and if at all somebody has a phone from some other country how is he going to get it repaired.

SUGGESTIONS if any will be most  WELCOME..

Re: Network Problem

Hello...apologies for the delayed reply...hopefully you already got this sorted out, but just in case!

As you know, all formal support, including Warranty, starts with the carriers, authorized resellers, and authorized service centers, all who can escalate cases into RIM at no charge to the end user. However, each has their own policies to follow, and each device is covered by it's own warranty provisions, as determined at the time and place of original purchase. As such, when this device was originally purchased, there would have been documentation stating exactly the terms and usage methods for the specific warranty on this device...and those cannot be deviated from. So, if you received this as a gift, then whoever you received it from is technically responsible for your warranty. The warranty cannot be assigned elsewhere...such are the contractual terms to which all parties are bound.

There is something called incident support, but it costs to just ask the initial question, since you are bypassing the contract you signed upon purchase. If you wish to investigate that, you can review it here:

Good luck!
