New Software/AT&T/Loss of network connection

I have an 8310.  I upgraded to the new OS and was happy to do so for items like PDF and TIFF viewing, HTML emails, etc.

 

But - I have found that my BB loses connectivity to the network in fringe signal areas (like my office) and then won't reconnect when it has a good signal.

 

For instance, the signal drops to zero bars and I get disconnected.

 

The signal strength, either through moving around the office or leaving the office and going to a stronger signal area, comes back but the device does not reconnect.  It shows the strong signal, but neither the GSM nor EDGE indicators.  The only way to reconnect is to go into the Wireless manager and turn the Mobile Network off then on.

 

Am I the only one to experience this?  I rolled back to the prior OS and have not had this problem since doing the rollback.
