New Version of BB Desktop - Issues??

I downloaded the new version of BB Desktop last night and it says my Bold is not connected and the the dial at the bottom of the desktop says connecting but it doesn't.  When I tried to quit/force quit - it froze my machine and I had to do a hard shut down on my iMac.  Anyone else having this issue?
