You could configure a profile where all calls are just sent to voice mail. If you look at the profiles (Profiles > Advanced > (highlight active profile, press the menu key, then select Edit) > Phone) you will see that there is an option at the bottom that says Do Not Disturb. If this is set to Yes the calls should go directly to voice mail.
If you configure a new profile (or just set that option to Yes on the profile you use) then all calls would go to voice mail, while e-mail still comes through.

thanks for response, but I just spoke to ATT and it seems this will not stop the voicemail from actually going through the Greece connection before being placed into voicemail. ATT does offer call barring...but not on a Blackberry...to deactivate phone, they would have to do it at the ATT level...which means I couldn't activate my phone in case of emergency.
I was able to do this on my ipac...and I'm considering switching back to tht phone for all my international travels.
Anything else you could possibly recommend?

Technically, the airlines require that you turn all blackberry connections off, voice AND email (and bluetooth if you are using it). The idea is that do not want any RF interference (although there is question as to whether there is actually a problem, that is their policy). Once in the air, you can use the BlackBerry, as long as you keep the radio off. You can work with email you already had on the device, but anything you send will be queued until you land and can turn the radio on again.
If you want to continue to have phone calls disabled after you land, why not just forward the phone number?

I am flying domestically across the USA. All I want to do is listen to music on my Blackberry Curve. Do you think I'm OK from a security and a roaming point of view if I:
- Turn off email by Profiles > Phone Only; and
- Route all phone calls to voice mail by Profiles > Advanced > (highlight active profile, press the menu key, then select Edit) > Phone and select option at the bottom that says Do Not Disturb?

Go to Manage Connections and turn off all connections. That disables the radio. It won't do anything about how voice mails are handled, but you will not be emitting the dreaded RF signals. Listen to your heart's content, and then remember to turn on the connections again when you land.

WOW; I missed this setting all together! I must have spent an hour poking around so I could listen to music without getting thrown in jail for having my radio on! This probably sounds silly but can turning the radio off be set up as a profile?

I don't thnk you can set it as an option, but if you make the Icon part of your home screen it should be pretty quck to change. Just hit the Icon and the first option is turn off all connections!
Hope this helps! Let me know!

On the three preloaded themes, it is always on the home screen. Just scroll the trackball to the upper right part of the screen. You should hightlight the icon showing your phone profile (right under the signal bars).
