Not sending out e-mail

My phone has stopped sending e-mail to all addresses except the second phone number we have.  Getting "Transaction error - failure at service'  However, my laptop and tablet have no problem sending e-mails from the same address.  Any idea what's wrong and how I can fix it?  Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app

2) Delete and Resend Service Books

  • KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
  • If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS configuration for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Only someone with "back end" system access can possibly look and say "why"...so you'd have to seek out formal support (from ATT) to have a path by which to actually ask that question (though I doubt you'd receive an answer of any true value). Sometimes it just burps...technology, designed and built by humans, can hardly be expected to be perfect...

Well, the battery thing didn't work.  You must be a fan of Terry Prachett's Disk World books, what with magic leaking out all over the place.  I've become convinced his is the real world.  I'll try the re-register stuff next.

Actually, when you re-read what I gave you, you will find that I provided "steps"...to be conducted in order. You went to the last step, but skipped the first two. Each step requires the success of the prior step...given what you are experiencing, I do not expect the mere batt-pull reboot to cure anything. Hence my providing you with steps...not options...

PS -- I have no clue at all what you mean by your references...hence my ignoring them in my reply...
