O.S. 5.0 trouble for 8520, Blackberry messenger

Hey, Im trying to update my 8520 to the o.s. 5.0 but everytime I try on my desktop manager it says there has been a fatal error and i dont know why.

Also im trying to find out how to work my BBM. Everytime i try to add someone it says "Waiting for authorization" but my friend says they sent me an invite but I dont see it can any1 help me out.

Here are instructions on updating your OS to the latest.  Follow the instructions in the first post of the thread below:

In order for BBM to work, both parties need a BlackBerry with the proper BlackBerry data plan enabled on their accounts.

II went on the link but it's talking bout for Singapore Telecom Mobile Pte Ltd, I have t-mobile it won't effect anything will it?

No, the carrier doesn't matter.  Just follow the instructions.
