Re: OS 4.7.0.148

I was asked to delete 21MB of personal data from device memory.

But Media Manager doesn't show any file under BB 9530 [Device Memory].

How can I free memory ? I don't have third party application running.

I user the BlackBerry Desktop Manager Upgrade method to Upgrade my BlackBerry storm 9530 from 4.7.075 to the New OS 4.7.0.148

It took about 30-40 minutes to complete.. and has been Running Good ever since..

All of my themes, Contacts, bookmarks, Messages and apps all still work..

one Bit of advice..

1.) Backup your BlackBerry first..

2.) Make sure that your Battery is charged up 80% or more..

and you may have to recharge your battery afterword..the process used about 25 - 30 %

3.) Some Blackberry Users have experienced Faster Battery drain.. But the Majority of BlackBerry Users have not had any problem..

4.) Battery Drain is related to Numer of running Apps, and if you have BackGround Lighting Running at 100% without dimming etc..

Good luck..

Re: OS 4.7.0.148

Please read the already-in-progress 4.7.0.148 threads in this forum (see the Sticky Threads at the top?) for feedback and reactions and user comments, rather than starting yet another of the same.

Thanks!

Re: OS 4.7.0.148

Desktop Manager says I need to wirelessly activate BB after upgrade.

Is this step manual or BB DM does it ?

Thanks

Re: OS 4.7.0.148

Ok, I'm not understanding this...  I've been asked to upgrade my Blackberry to .148 (I'm using .075 now)...

I've backed up my Storm but it keeps asking me to remove 17 Mb of Device Memory but when I look at my memory allocation, it states the following:

Application Memory:  12.1 Mb Available

Device Memory:  Total 879.2 Mb

                         Avail 874.5 Mb

Media Card:  Total 7.3 Gb

                   Free 7.3 Gb

If I need to remove stuff from active memory or something like that, where would I go to do this?

Thank you in advance for you assistance,

Are you doing an OTA update? If so, do a batt-pop reboot first...that will hopefully increase your App memory (the one that needs more).

With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, this one suffers from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure
