As for the Restting Emaill I Just set it up Again with No Error Mesage or Saying to Use New Email Address.

I also had to Re log in to My Visual VM & Re Enter City in Weatherbug. Then Re Enter Apps from Download Folder to Home.

MzJuJu, cancel the update if you can and restart.  Something didn't quite go right for some reason.  If you continue to have problems, please open up a new thread and we'll start helping you from there.  Smiley Happy

Once you are done, always remember to do a battery pull and resend your service books. For vzw, don't forget to call *228, option 1; then wait a few minutes and do *228, option 2. This will update your roaming capabilities.

ALSO YOU BROWSER MAY DISAPPEAR, YOU NEED TO REGISTER ON NETWORK AND RESEND SERVICE BOOKS:
Go to Options>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table>Menu>Register Now

For those of you missing the email folders, this is because you need to reregister your handheld on the network and have your service books resent.  If you are able to log into your BIS account, you can resend the service books yourself, otherwise, just call Verizon and have them send them for you.  Smiley Happy

You'll then get all your email folders, your browser and everything else back.  Smiley Happy

For BES clients, please speak with your BES admin before updating as you will need to reactivate your connection to the BES server after the upgrade (if you know your BES username and password, it shouldn't be an issue, but I'd still recommend waiting until your BES admin gives the go ahead and is available to help if any issues do come up).  (Thanks to sdgardne for the reminder about this).

Good luck and enjoy your new Storms!

Re: Official Verizon BlackBerry Storm Device Software Upgrade

I hope someone will please help me.  I received an email stating there is an upgrade to the Storm, I went through the process, only to discover it stripped my device of my entire data base, calendar, email service, music I paid for that was downloaded on my phone, EVERYTHING.  Synched my calendar and database, but have no idea how to get my email back because I am an individual, not in a company on a BB server. I have Verizon. No clue what my username and pw is, should it be a Verizon username & pw or Blackberry? Why on earth would an upgrade do this, especially with no warning??  In many ways, I wish I had stayed with my Treo 700, it did not give me trouble like this.  Can anyone help me through this, or do I just have to go to the Verizon store tomorrow?  Thank you in advance.  I will never do another upgrade.

Did you do a battery pull after the upgrade? If not pull the battery out for about 30 seconds a put it back in.

Did you backup before the upgrade? If so, then go to the DM and do a restore.

Re: Official Verizon BlackBerry Storm Device Software Upgrade

I just did the upgrade.

Went to http://blackberry.com/update

it opened my Manager on my PC and begun the update.

It backed up everything first then installed the update and reinstalled everything.

It was very smooth, I did not have to do a battery pull or call verizon.

I did have to accept the permissions of a few programs to allow them to access parts of the phone.

But other than that it was seemless.

And being the night of it's release it amazed me that it only took me 20-30 minutes.

I went from .113 to latest and I haven't noticed any big changes.

I am hoping it doesn't hang any more.

My biggest complaint is that every once and a while when I go to answer it, it hangs there with the little hourglass sort of thing showing that it is thinking.

Do another powered on battery pull and reboot.

Re: Official Verizon BlackBerry Storm Device Software Upgrade

I found that a few battery pulls were good, then it really settled down.  Memory settles down after 1 1/2 days.  Then stays pretty steady.
