Re: Own Phone Number

hanks for this, this was set, but it seems the phone number also needs to be logged on the SIM.  Thanks

AH, then in that case,

Options > Advanced > SIM Card > Press Menu key > Edit SIM Phone number.  Smiley Happy

Re: Own Phone Number

I have this problem as well. I have a BB from Bell Canada. When I follow those instructions it says "SIM Card: Security Disabled" at the top.

I go to phone number (right now it says Unknown Number (Line 1)

Select edit phone number. At this screen it says SIM Phone number:___

I enter 10 digit number

It says then Denied Acess to SIM

It can't be that I am on a contract as I paid for the BB in full and I am month to month.

When I call someone it has my number and the name is Unknown - where do I enter my name for caller ID that is SENT out?

Any ideas... Jim

Re: Own Phone Number

1.  In the future, please learn to create your own thread when you have your own personal issue to discuss... even if your issue might be "similar" the originally posted. yours is not the same, and posting in a existing thread like this just clutters the original posters thread.
The "New Message" link is at the top left of each forum section page.

2. Try this on your BlackBerry: Press the GREEN phone dial key to enter the Call Log.

Press the Menu key > Options > Restrict My Identity = NO or NEVER.

3. Your phone number is programmed from the carrier. Call then to send you an over the air "activation" which will enable the phone number on the sim.

""Press the green dial key to enter the Call Log.

Press Menu key > Options > General Options > Show My Number = Yes.

 And Save.""

but  no results. It still shows "" My Number: Unknown Number ""
