Re: Passkey

to pair it with ... what?

Most 'default' passkeys for Bluethooth devices are set by the manufacturer at either "0000" or five zeros.. "00000"

Re: Passkey

...with your automobile?

or a phone in your automobile?

Really, the more details you can offer, exacting details, can be helpful. Otherwise, you have to understand, it's mostly a guessing game on this side.

Do you have the pairing instructions for other (non-BlackBerry) device... the 'auto phone'?

Re: Passkey

The pairing is for my Jaguar automobile blue tooth . The dashboard screen displays the "discover me"  message. I then go to the device under set up, then bluetooth, add new device, it searches for device finds the Jaguar and askes for the pass key. I have entered the two options as recommended but has failed.

Hope this helps..

Thank you

Re: Passkey

Ok, so you need the passkey for the Jaguar. I don't know that... you'd be smart to consult a Jaguar forum or documentation if you can find such.

Sorry, wish I could help.

Re: Passkey

No the Jaguar has it's own and have entered it successfully. The BB device is asking for the passkey, not the automobile.

I have done this in the past and recall entering the 4 zeros as contained in the BB booklet. I do not have the booklet and am certain that there must be a problem and a fix somewhere.

Re: Passkey

Exactly. The device is asking for the passkey of the "device" you want to pair with... in this case, the Jaguar.

I have also done this many times in the past also, with other BlackBerry devices, keyboards, earsets, and autos.
