I'm not sure what else to look at, but this is doesn't make any sense. We are running Exchange 2003 on a SBS Server and on a separate server, the BES. All systems have the latest updates/SPs, etc .....
One of my users has a Pearl 8100, with the most current firmware as well and has been setup to prompt for deletes and to prompt if it should be deleted on the handheld only or both the handheld & mailbox.
The problem is, it only ever offers delete and not the "handheld only" and "handheld and mailbox" options. The Pearl is configured correctly for this and his profile in the BES is correct as well.
Today I did a complete wipe of the device and reactivated it thinking maybe something was screwed up in his handheld. Unfortuantely, this made no difference and I rechecked the delete settings again. Odd thing, it worked properly before the user messed up his device a couple weeks back.

Well, that seems to be the issue, the option is currently set to prompt for deletes and message services is desktop. The device does not prompt the user for their delete action. The device only offers a prompt to delete and not the "handheld only" or "mailbox & handheld" that should appear.

resend service books and try again.

As I mentioned in my original note, I did a complete security wipe and reactivated the device, verified the options to control the delete prompting and the device seems to ignore the settings. I also resent the service books.
This is just all to strange...

In the BES, I can add/remove/change the BES user accounts. That is something I thought of trying when the user comes back tomorrow.
1) In the BES, delete the user account in question
2) Wipe the handheld again
3) In the BES, create the user account
4) Activate the handheld again
5) Check the handheld options again for delete handling
If that doesn't work ... it's a total bust.
