Pearl 8230 major problem

Hi Everyone...

New to this site, was looking around for some information on the problem that I am experiencing...  There is so much to look through, thought that it would be easier just to make a new posting..

So here is my problem...

My 8230 froze, so I took the battery out, waited for a few minutes, then returned the battery.

Now I can not turn on my phone... solid red LED light goes on for about 5 seconds then off....  So I left it plugged into wall charger for over 10 hours to see if it could be a battery problem....  still no go...  put a new fully charged battery in to see if we could turn it on...  Still nothing

Note:  my computer nor bb device manager sees the computer when put on usb...

I have tried to install the new o/s, but when it gets to a certain point says to attached the device...I can't go any further, due to the fact that bb device manager does not "see" the phone..

Do any of you have any advice on what I can do?  Or is the phone headed for the electronice recycle bin???

Thank you for any help you could give..

Re: Pearl 8230 major problem

No kidding! I'm so ticked off about mine. Never had a bit of trouble with it until the download. It's totally unusable to me and my cell phone carrier couldn't fix it either. I've been forced to work with an older phone that's making things quite difficult for my business.

This fix apparently has worked for a lot of people, but it didnt' for me. You may want to try it:

Next time, why not create your own NEW thread rather than posting in one a month old?

You say you "killed" your dads phone. How did you kill it?

How is it dead? What have you tried and what has not worked?

Please, details help.
