Pearl won't communicate through USB with any computer

I just bought a BB Pearl and i'm having trouble syncing.. No matter how i install the software it does not recognize the device. windows doesn't even recognize new hardware when the device is plugged in.

I have tried detecting the device and pulling the battery, what else can i do?

do you hear any sort of chime on your computer when you connect the device? Is your device manager set to sync via USB?

Tetzg...that is weird.. If I remember correctly, I did had that a few times in the beginning..but lately never.

Once you have your device plugged into your PC and the software running.. have you tried to detect and connect using "connection settings"?..if this doesn't help: .. lol.. I now see that you already tried that...

Have you tried to plug your device to another PC? I am curious if another PCis able to find new the hardware.

I am having the same problem.  My computer won't recognize my pearl at all.  I have tried everything I can think of and more.  Hopefully someone can figure it out.  It's probably something simple.

I was having the same problem and I ended up calling RIM tech support and they got me straightened out. The bottom line is I had to wipe the device and then it worked. Make sure you backup first, otherwise you will lose everything.

Please try this excellent post by Zandrex before wiping your device.

Wiping the device may have been for a specific problem. That solution is not the norm.
