Phone Wiped

I have a password for my Blackberry Curve.

Recently I was asked to insert my password, which I did.

Subsequently I was asked to type in the word "Blackberry"

and for my password.

I was advised that I had now inserted two incorrect passwords

and if I inserted a third incorrect password I would be "locked out"

or some similar wording.

I have not changed my password.

SUBSEQUENTY, my blackberry was wiped.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO RECOVER LOSS OR WIPPED data?

Thank you

Re: Phone Wiped

Hi Lyner47,

Welcome ,

You are ask to type" Blackberry" generally after 10 false password entry, and as result of that the device itself wipe up as he think that the device is in another hand and trying to access it.

I am sorry but there is no way of recovering your data unless you had done  backup of your device either by BB desktop software or using Blackberry Protect.

Good Luck

Prince

Re: Phone Wiped

Many thanks Prince for your prompt and welcome response.

Can you advise if the 10 false passwords is cumulative!!

I have never inserted 10 consecutive false passwords.

I have "backed" up my Blackberry to my computer.

However, I cannot access the backup on my computer.

Hi Lyner47,

As by default it is set to 10 , What problem or error you are facing while accessing the backup.

Re: Phone Wiped

The default incorrect password setting is ten.

It can be set to as low as three incorrect entries, which is what it appears you device was set to.

To answer your main question, UNLESS you have a backup of your device made using the BlackBerry Desktop Software or from BlackBerry Protect over the air backups, then your wiped data is now gone.

Always backup!

Why can you not access this backup? Any error message or additional information you can provide that is helpful?

Are you trying to access the backup using the BlackBerry Desktop Software?

Re: Phone Wiped

[ Edited ]

I have reinstated my phone!!

I will revert in response to the questions you raised in your last communication.

I have now encountered "another" issue - I have asked to insert a

BLACKBERRY CURVE  Removed personal information to comply withCommunity GuidelinesandTerms and Conditions of Use.

I have used up to 4 attempts at what I understand to be my password but I am going no further.

Can you help once again?

Many thanks.

Re: Phone Wiped

I don't understand what you need help with.

Either you know your password or you don't, and you must enter it correctly.

Re: Phone Wiped

Hi,

I think I may have resolved part of my last issue.

The message I was receiving was on my computer as I attempted to access info from Blackberry.

However, I subsequently noticed that when I was asked to key in my password on my device the same

requirement was there.

On inserting my password to my devise the message (4/10 attempts) reverted to 0 on my computer!!

So that maybe one issue resolved for now.

However, I am having difficulty linking my devise to my computer.

I will revert when I can identify this  issue for you.

Thank you.
