Phone won't recognize my new Jabra Bluetooth BT3030 Headset

I now understand that the "stereo" part of the headset won't work due to software issues but I've been told that the talk/phone function of the headset should work.  Prior to purchasing the sales girl was able to get my 8800 series to add the headset to the Bluetooth paired devices list.  I did not purchase at that time and deleted the Jabra headset from my paired devices.  Several days later I purchased but now that I have the headset home the phone will not recognize the Jabra headset when in pairing mode.  I would appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks!

Re: Phone won't recognize my new Jabra Bluetooth BT3030 Headset

Make sure that your getting the headset into pairing mode. It should be a simple thing to do, but sometimes it seems to be a real pain. Below are the BT3030 pairing instructions. At step 2 you should be running the Bluetooth wizard on your BlackBerry. Good Luck!

1. Put the headset in pairing mode
When you turn on your Jabra BT3030 for the first time, the headset
will automatically start up in pairing mode – i.e. it is discoverable
for your phone. When the headset is in pairing mode the LED is
constantly lit with a blue light.

2. Set your Bluetooth phone to ‘discover’ the Jabra BT3030
Follow your phone’s instruction guide. First make sure that
Bluetooth is activated on your mobile phone. Then set your phone
to discover the headset. This usually involves going to a ‘setup,’
‘connect’ or ‘Bluetooth’ menu on your phone and selecting the
option to ‘discover’ or ‘add’ a Bluetooth device.*

3. Your phone will find the Jabra BT3030
Your phone will find the headset under the name BT3030. Your
phone then asks if you want to pair with the headset. Accept by
pressing ‘Yes’ or ‘OK’ on the phone and confirm with the passkey
or PIN = 0000 (4 zeros). Your phone will confirm when pairing is
complete.

In case of unsuccessful pairing, put the Jabra BT3030 into pairing
mode manually. Make sure the headset is off. Press and hold the
answer/end button for approximately 4 seconds until the LED has
a constant blue light. The LED will flash before the light is constant –
keep holding down the button until the light is constant.

Re: Phone won't recognize my new Jabra Bluetooth BT3030 Headset

I'm trying the same headset and the Blackberry (8707g) fails at step #2 -it never stops searching, e.g. the phone is hanging, the only way to get out of the freeze is to turn it off and also remove the battery (or it will still search when powered back on).

On another note... it took about 15 seconds to pair up a SonyEricsson with the same headset. Why would it be so difficutl for the BB?

Re: Phone won't recognize my new Jabra Bluetooth BT3030 Headset

For me, it's solved.

Jabra has an interactive guide: http://jabra.pairx.co.uk/?l=28&pp=643&sm=5

Move in to the bb option, BT, then turn your attention to the headset: Make sure it's turned off, then start it up in pairing mode, then go into BB add device setup - it worked.

And the issue with the phone hanging when searching for items to pair with dissapeared when I disconnected the phone from the laptop. I guess that means I can only have my phone connected to one bt device at time, but that's another issue for another day Smiley Happy

Re: Phone won't recognize my new Jabra Bluetooth BT3030 Headset

I was having the same issue.  I could not get my BBTour 9630 to discover my old Jabra 105 bluetooth.  I used the link you posted and selected my model of headset and that fixed it.  For my bluetooth, to re-enter pairing mode, I had to hold the Volume Up and Answer keys at the same time.

Thanks for this........I was really annoyed that I couldn't get it to work, simple thing, the key is the keeping the headset off until you put the phone in pairing mode. Worked like a charm after that
