I had some problems with applications on my smartphone BB Bold 9900 and wiped all the data. Now I am trying to restore the contact list., but there are some difficulties:
1. - I do not have any backup on my computer - I haven't even installed the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
1.1 - I tried to install Desktop Software now, but the download is not available in Canada
2 - I remember, I signed up for automatic back up of my contacts and messages on the BlackBerry server, but I can not figure out, how to synchronize it now.
2.1 - May be one of the reasons is that my phone is not connected to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and I do not know how to connect it.

I will try to help but have to narrow down a few things. Did you have corporate email on your phone before it was wiped? I will need to know if you had personal or corporate email first.

Gotcha, see if you can setup your email accounts this way:
From the device go to blackberry.com/integrate
and follow the prompts

Are the contacts still on your email account?

Yes, on Gmail. And when I try to synchronize it now from my phone - it says "Your device encountered a problem with this application's server. Select OK and repeat the action to try again".

Try this: on the phone go to setup and click on email accounts. It will look like the first screenshot from this site.
Click on email accounts
Click on your email account
Scroll down and click on synchronization options to expand it. Do you see the contacts checkbox? If so, check it if it isn't.
It may prompt for your password after you make the changes. save and return to the home screen. I'm not sure how your email was setup before. Trying a few different options.
