It also looks like RIM pulled v7 from their download page. now it shows v6.1. as "current version" to download.

I followed this thread due to the same BB-Desktop problem.

From my own personal experience, it is not recommended to uninstall V7 and install V6 instead.

I did it, and all device backups made with V7 are NOT recognized by V6, and therefore cannot be used to restore the device.

RIM - is there a solution in sight, or a patch that enables V6 to recognize and restore using V7 backups?
