Problem re setting up my e-mails on a new device

My old blackberry torch broke a month or so ago due to software error and I eventually got a new replacement today. As I am setting everything back up on it I can not re set up my e-mail account I had on my old device. I keep getting this message:

I keep getting this error message: A new blackberry device has been detected. You must move e-mail account to resume email delivery to your blackberry device. Email delivery to your old device has been stopped.

It gives me the option to move the e-mail account so I do and it says it is successful, but then when I check e-mail accounts or try and sent an e-mail it says I have no e-mail accounts set up and take me back to the same error message?!?

Does anyone know what can be done?

Thanks

Re: Problem re setting up my e-mails on a new device

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescirbed for most gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

Then, look at Options > Device > Advanced > Default Services. Make certain your default email account is selected here.

If still nothing works: On your BlackBerry device, go to:

1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.
2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site:
From your handheld device:   http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402

Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and log in. Then under Help!, select Service Books, then select Send service Books.

From your desktop PC:  http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
North American Carriers
- scroll down to select your carrier
WorldWide Carriers - Find your carrier on the list

3. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot. This reboot, even if you have already done this, is often needed to install the service books.

Re: Problem re setting up my e-mails on a new device

Thanks, that didnt seemed to work though and when I go 'look at Options > Device > Advanced > Default Services. Make certain your default email account is selected here.' I just get a blank grey screen with nothing on it?!?

Should I just go and try the second option? If I resend the service books from my carrier will I lose any other settings on my device?

Again thanks for your help with this.

Re: Problem re setting up my e-mails on a new device

If you're getting a blank screen on the default services screen, you probably have no service books sent to the device.

You should send the service books and register the HRT. If that fails, call your carrier Orange and ask them to do it.

Re: Problem re setting up my e-mails on a new device

I don't understand the hassle of properly calling your Orange tech support specialist to resolvd a problem like this. Its likely a service book provisioning issue which only they can resolve. Good luck.

Re: Problem re setting up my e-mails on a new device

Hi

almost the same as the first message except my phone got only a new keyboard

in the set up I see "new device has been detected... you must move your email accounts...." so I need to validate all paswords

I did it about 10 times!

after 4 emails passwords had  been validated - nothing

I wanted to delete the stored accounts and to try set up a new account BUT there is no option to delete the emails, so after I validated the emails I created a new one but - still the same: at the end a message that it was success but nothing happened - when I'm back to the set up email accounts have not been activated.....

"at least one account must be moved to set up email on this device" - but it also doesn't work I can't live the set up without validating all the paswords

I activated BBaps without any problem, twitter works, BB messanger too... but not email

can it be a problem caused by network? I'm losing 3G at home and can use only wifi and GPRS....

Re: Problem re setting up my e-mails on a new device

joanna, in the future it would be wise to create your own thread. For now, please leave your device powered on and remove the battery for about five minutes. Reinsert it and reboot. Now try your email set again.
It sounds like your BlackBerry may not be properly provisioned yet to the BIS service. If this issue persists, call your carrier tech support and ask them to verify your device PIN is provisioned to your account and that the BIS plan is also provisioned. If both are, then ask them to send the service books to your BlackBerry.

Re: Problem re setting up my e-mails on a new device

The hassle is not just the call, the hassle is the fact my phone original broke on the 4th June and I send it away for repair on the 6th June and Blackberry finally sent me a new phone on the 5th July, I collected it from the store took it home and that phone was also broke, so I took it back to the store to order a new one but they said they would have to send it away again for repair even though they had just given it to me! I left the store called up my service provided who informed me I can just use my phone insurance with Blackberry and get a new one straight away, so back to the store I went to drop my phone off, I had to wait a few days to go back down the store and collect my 3rd phone!

Now I finally have a phone I just want it to work like my 1st one but things are just not that simple! I also backed up all my contacts with Lookout mobile security and I can't restore them for some reason so that's also annoying me!

Anyway all of which has nothing to do with you but I do appreciate your help and I'm sure you can see what I mean by more hassle.
