Re: Problem to install device software via my phone

This issue is described in BSTC article: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17007

Follow these steps to restore "Wireless update" option on your device.

Complete the following steps to restore the Wireless Upgrade / Wireless Update option:

  1. From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, select Options.
  2. Select Advanced Options.
  3. Select Service Book.
  4. Find and highlight the service book called Provisioning[OTASL].
  5. Display the menu and select Delete.
  6. After confirming the service book is no longer listed, display the menu again and select Undelete.
  7. Return to the Home screen.
  8. After a minute or two, verify that the Wireless Upgrade / Wireless Update option is restored.

Hello, Maria.

Is your BlackBerry device connected to your company's mail system (aka BES, BlackBerry Enterprise Server) ?

Maria, in the Service Book list, scroll further down in the list, are you certain that "Provisioning[OTASL]" is not listed further down in the list?

Your current OS: Look at Options > About, third line down beginning with a "v.4.xxx"

And yes, you will need to be connected to a PC for the upgrade.
