I bought the BB Bold and used Desktop Manager 4.6 to transfer my data from my old BB Pearl 8100, from which I then removed all data.
Now I want to transfer back the data from my Bold to the Pearl 8100, but Desktop Manager informs me of an error during the transfer and i can't get my contacts neither my blackberry mensenger contacts back. I tried several times, also doing a bakup that i tried to upload on the Pearl, but it doesn't work.
Is it a problem of software compatibility with my Pearl ?
should i try to do it on a previous version of desktop manager ?
Please help me, i just can't enter manually all my contacts !!

So you just need your contacts back or all of the data?
If it's just certain databases (like Contacts), go into Backup and Restore | Advanced.
On the left hand side, do you see the contents of your backup/restore file? If not go into File | Open and browse to where the IPD file was saved at.
You can then select the databases on the left side, and transfer them onto the right side (which would be your Pearl)

Is the arrow grayed out when attempting to manage the backup ipd file?
Can you see the pearl using the 4.6 desktop?

I tried to do it through "Backup and restore / advanced", but the Adress book database that appears on the left side is grayed out, so I can't add it to my pearl who appears on the right side.
I don't understand where the problem is coming from..
I updated my pearl OS to the latest one but it still doesn't work.

Did you have to browse to the IPD file, or was the left hand side already populated?
Try going to File | Close. That should clear the left side. Then do a File | Open and browse to where the IPD file is saved at. See if it's still greyed out

Can you describe what you tried in switch device wizard and what happened?
