Problem uninstalling BlackBerry device and desktop manager...

I am trying to uninstall BlackBerry device manager however it is presenting me with an error... It starts removing the software and it then states Error 2738 Could not access VBScript run time for custom action. Please help me with this problem, I need for it to be removed ASAP Thank you in advance.
Kind Regards
A Ramzan

Re: Problem uninstalling BlackBerry device and desktop manager...

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Here is a KB that discusses that error:

  • KB03490 Internal Error 2738. Could not access VBscript appears when installing BlackBerry Desktop Manager

Normally, that is an install error rather than an uninstall error, but hopefully the remedies it contains will still be useful! There also are multiple existing threads on this site that discuss that exact error...your review of those might prove useful, and a search of this site, using the error message, error code, or symptom, should reveal all applicable existing threads to you.

Good luck and let us know!

Re: Problem uninstalling BlackBerry device and desktop manager...

I am using Windows 7 64 bit and for some reason my BB Desktop Software will not unintall so I can do a clean reinstall. It gives an error message and something about VBscript. Please help asap! Thank you!

Re: Problem uninstalling BlackBerry device and desktop manager...

All fixes apply to all Windows OS levels, though you may have to modify slightly some of the instructions if they don't specifically work for your Windows version. All fixes available, based on what you have stated, are already posted above...you can of course search the public KB database for other articles that may be more directly on point to your situation.

Good luck!
