Problem with BBID User Authentication

I have the following message from Blackberry Protect on my new Bold 9900 (acquired in the last week)

 

To use BlackBerry Protect, you must validate your BlackBerry ID credentials. To validate your credentials click the ‘BBID authentication required’ link on the BlackBerry Protect status screen.

When I click the‘BBID authentication required’link in Blackberry Protect I get the' Verify Blackberry ID 'screen where I am invited to complete and submit my BlackBerry ID Username and Password. On submission i get a return message' Unable to login to your Blackberry ID account

I get exactly the same result when i try to acces ' My World in Blackberry App World so the problem is with         ' Verify BlackBerry ID

However the Blackberry ID Information that I am submitting is correct and I can log in to BlackBerry ID on my PC with no problem using the same data

Anyone have a solution to this problem?
