Problem with Blackberry Storm

[ Edited ]

I have a Blackberry Storm and I seem to have some difficulty turning it on.
I have had my Blackberry on the charger for about 2 months now, but it has yet to turn on.

Symptoms:
When I plug it into the charger the red light indicating power turns on for 20 seconds. Then 6 seconds later,  the loading sign turns on for 13 seconds, then blacks out. 4 seconds after it blacks out, the loading sign pops up one more time for less than a second. 3 seconds later, the red light turns back on. This process has been repeating itself for, as I said, 2 months. I bought a new battery for it, but it just does the same thing over and over again. I would love any help I could get.
Thanks. Smiley Happy

Re: Problem with Blackberry Storm

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

Otherwise, you might need to use this more drastic procedure:

  • KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any state

Good luck and let us know!
