It's a brand new blackberry and I've never added an email to it. From what I gather it looks as though I created a BIS account - as when I tried to create an account on the Vodafone/BlackBerry site it said that one has already been created. I don't remember creating one, as I'm sure that I would have added an email once my account was activitied, but I'm not sure.
