Since I upgraded to 7.1.0 last night I am unable to access email accounts on my phone. The actual emails are working fine - I can send and receive but in settings I cannot access the email accounts key and therefore cannot edit settings. This was working fine before upgrade.
Also more worrying, there is a problem with my BB ID. I can log in on the phone but when trying to log in online the username or password is supposedly wrong - it's not! I have reset this via the phone to be sure and it still does not work online. Again, this was fine before the OS upgrade.
Should I attempt a downgrade? And install upgrade again? Am worried about losing even more functionalty!
Please kindly assist. Thank you.

How did you updated your device Software ? Using Desktop Software on Over the Air on device OS update ?
Regarding your email account issue use your BlackBerry browser and browse to www.blackberry.com/integrate to add / edit any of your account , can you try it ?

Please try it and let us know if issue persists , personally I never prefer doing an update OTA , I have seen many user having such issues after doing an OS update OTA . We can always use desktop software or loader .exe for any such update.
If you feel any problem within few days then I suggest Reload the same OS using Desktop Software which will fix any software glitch.

Thank you for that - how wonderful to find a friendly supportive voice out there! What has happened to BB support since I last looked?
I was able to access the accounts through the device browser as you said and that worked but it did nothing to unfreeze the button on the device.
I had to load via the air as it was not possible to do a hard wire upgrade via BDS - I tried and it failed. The one over the air seemed to work okay but I am now upgrading again via cable and BDS and so far it is working but at the endlast time it said it wasn't possible. I'll wait and see but I *really* appreciate your help. Thanks.

You are most welcome ...
I prefer Desktop Software or a manual update using loader .exe because while doing so we can keep up our device backup but Over the Air update do a backup and restore wirelessly if something goes wrong then our device may suffer a lot including your precious data .
If you want to try a manual update then you can try those simple steps , it would hardly take 20 minutes or so , to do that follow those instructions :
1.Locate your Carrier and Download the OS you desire from here BlackBerry Software Download Site
2. Now Double Click on the file that you Downloaded to Install it on your PC
3. Download and install the latest BlackBerry desktop software from here BlackBerry desktop software
4.Search your C: Drive for any Vendor.xml files and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml .On your PC change your folders option to show hidden files / folders ( You can skip steps #4 if you're using your own Carrier OS pack ) depending on windows version vendor .xml files location can be :
5. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader. (For 64-bit Vista or Windows 7, the path will be C: > Program Files x86 > Common Files > Research In Motion > AppLoader) double click Loader.exe.
Upgrade will continue then After Installation of New OS restore your backup using BlackBerry desktop

Wow! I think you've now breached my natural level of incompetence! Not sure I can do all of that - but I know an IT man who can
Sadly my download speed is <1mb/sec! Thanks to BT and no fibreoptics! So 20 mins will be more like several hours - but I'll let you know how it goes.
Many thanks, Patty (real name Di).

Well.. it seems hard but very easy indeed However if your downloading speed is slow then it will take time to download the OS pack , and we need Internet connection only for this part and for download desktop software for rest of those steps you don't need any internet conncetion.
However if you can download the OS pack as you desired from a place where you have a desent download speed then you can try this method whenever you're free or have time !
Try it and let us know if you feel any problem in doing so
