Purged Messages

I am EXTREMELY frustrated!!!

Can someone please help me?  I have the Blackberry Storm... and most of the time I love it... but right now... I might actuall hate it.

I want my SMS messages back!!!  The setting for SMS Messages is set to save them FOREVER.

I have checked the memory... and it says

APP Memory

Free:  26.7 MB

Device Memory

Total: 879.2 MB

Free: 874.9 MB

Media Card

Total: 7.3 GB

Free: 7.3 GB

Now... this phone decided today that it wanted to update itself... then all of my contacts disappeared... which then I attached it to my computer... hit restore... and to my delight they came back...

I also noticed it send some 250 PURGED messages back to my phone.... How can I get them... Are they stored on my computer or on my phone somewhere.... and could somebody please tell me why forever does not mean forever!!!!  (It should very well say... forever... but only if you save it!)

Thanks

Re: Purged Messages

Do you have a back up of your device?

Search your entire PC hard drive c: for any "*.ipd" file (leave out the quote marks).

Re: Purged Messages

You can see what is in it at Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > Advanced.

In the left hand pane, choose File > Open and navigate to where that file is located. Select it.

It will open, and you will see your databases on the left hand window. Find your SMS database and select it and click the right facing arrow in the middle to move it to your device.

Then follow the ensuing prompts.

Re: Purged Messages

Alright.... I did as you said... and there is nothing now in Computer Databases.. everything is on the right hand side and says device databases  (as I have just completed a restore a couple hours ago)  I did scroll down and it shows that there are 231 purged messages.  Anyway I can see those?!

Where is that, on the left hand or right hand side?
