Re: No Service

Hi, I have Blackberry Storm 9520, But everytime I try to make a Call I get the Following Msg "No Service Currently Available" I'm getting Full Bars, I can also Surf the net, Use the BB Services Messenger.Email etc... But not make calls.

Any Idea why that happens?

Thanks

Probably a bad SIM in that device, I'd first suggest you get a SIM swap from your service provider for a new SIM.

Re: No Service

What's the signal on the device? EDGE, edge, GPRS, gprs, GSM, or what?

Have you contacted your service provider?

Re: No Service

meh, I've seen many times that SIM card will work great in one BlackBerry and not at all in another. While it's rare, it is certainly not uncommon.

Why, I don't know.

Re: No Service

lol, wait a minute.. you got it off your brother. ok. It is always nice to have all the information.

So, no matter what SIM you place in the 9520, the internet and stuff works, but no phone calls can be made.

Are you using a SIM of the same service provider as the device is branded to?

Is the device unlocked for using on a carrier other than the one to which it was branded?

To determine if your BlackBerry is already "unlocked" or not:

1. On your BlackBerry, go to Options > Advanced Options > Sim Card.
2. At that screen type MEPD (see note below) on your keyboard. A new menu will pop up.
    * If your BlackBerry has a SureType keyboard (71xx, 81xx, 91xx devices) you will need to double-tap the P, so the actual keys entered become M E P P D.
3. Look for Network in the list.
4. If your device is "unlocked", it should say Disabled or Inactive. If it says Active, it's still locked to that carrier.
