I have download a voice recording program on to my 8330 and set the recording file type to wave in the program. I need the file to be wave so it can be recognized by our dictation software. When I try using the voice recorder I get an error stating that Unsupported record encoding type. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

I contacted Shape Services support people and they indicated that the program does save to wave, and that option is in the settings, of the program, on the Blackberry - please see below. I guess my question is, should I be able to record a .wav file on my BB Curve 8330? For Example, I see that the BB Voice Notes Recorder saves the file as an .amr and does not have the ability to change the file type to a wave.
Again, thank you very much for your help!
Thank you for your interest in our software.
The error message "Unsupported record encoding type" is from your device, not from our application.
We can not fix the situation, if your BlackBerry device doesn't support WAVE format.
Also, we'd rather recommend you not to keep all recordings on your device.
Please use our Free Online Storage.

The reorder by default records as you say in.amr format. If your third party application does have a way to convert this to a .wav file, it must be after the recorder created the file. The blackberry does ACCEPT .wav files, but I don't understand how it can make the recorder record in .wav. Please let me do some research on the issue and I will get back to you. I have setup this thread to email me when a response if generated. Please post an answer, and look on the bottom of the post and you will see the option to email you as well.
I will get back to you!
Please let me know what OS you are using on your BB device, thanks!

From the VR site:
VR+ is supported on BlackBerry OS 4.2, so voice can be recorded on BlackBerry 8100 Pearl and BlackBerry 8800
