Replace all contacts on BB device

Hi all,

Has anyone else had the following problem (and hopefully a work around?). I have (a touch buggy) but can sync my 9000 with Desktop manager for mac. However if I tick the advanced - replace all contacts on the BB device - I get a sync error every time. At this point I have duplicates on my phone and would like to wipe the whole thing (but without having to return the 9000 to default).

When I do a regular sync it works fairly well but isn't without hicups.

Re: Replace all contacts on BB device

I had a similar problem before and this resolved the issue for me:

  • Open the Address Book on the BlackBerry.
  • Press the menu button and select Options
  • While in Address Book Options type in all capitals RSET
  • This will give you the choice to delete the address book contents.
  • Select Yes to delete the contact list.

Soft-reset your BlackBerry. Turn it off, pull the battery for 3 minutes, put it back and turn on.

Then do a Mac overwrite sync again.
