Restarting

I've had my blackberry bold 9900 for 15 months and I have had no problems with it until the last few days. It is constantly restarting even when it is fully charged and sometimes it says the battery is on red. I charge my phone everyday for 4hours and sometimes I give it a long 16 hour charge. Also my blackberry has the lastest software update and when it does restart the red light comes on then it blackberry starter bar loads and then it shuts down again, sometimes the bar does even finishes loading before it shuts down again. I really don't know what is wrong with the phone so please help!.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

Hi all,

 

I have exactly the same background for the phone and same issue happened this week. I'll try the proposed solutions and keep you up to date, but I did not change anything on my phone recently.

I tried putting the phone into safe mode but it didn't help the phone is restarting even more. When I can get on my phone I'll go on my text messages and it will go onto the camera and  it starts taking photos
