Restore to factory settings

Is there a way to restore this blackberry model to factory settings. For instance the problem is i have a problemt with my laptop speakers (might be a virus) and i linked the blackberry to the laptop and now they dont work either. It might be conicidence or the virus might have spread. So is there a way to restore it to clear the virus at the risk of all your data?

Hi,

Go to options security, general settings, and menu key select wipe hand held.

You will lose all data and settings, and be down to the base operating system.

Thanks,

Re: Restore to factory settings

If you want to backup your data before wiping, then download the Desktop Manager software from here

https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22

Afterwards you can go into the Backup and Restore icon to make a backup of your data.

Afterwards you can wipe the device by going to Options | Security Options | General Settings. Then hit the menu button and choose Wipe Handheld.

Re: Restore to factory settings

JMRMB80,

I didn't mention the backup as the concern was the "virus".

Nice catch on the full info though.

Thanks,
