SMS and MMS recipient view

For a BlackBerry 9700 Bold: What name or information of the sender (besides phone number), if any, is viewable by a SMS or MMS recipient? Does it make a difference if the senders name and phone number is in their contact list?

Re: SMS and MMS recipient view

I assume you meant as the name is entered in the senders contact list.

Follow up questions:

1. How does it appear if the sender is in the recipients contact list?

2. What if the sender has restricted their identity in the options menu for the phone?

Thank you.

1- If in the contact list, depending on the settings on the recipient's phone, then the name should show up. Otherwise, the telephone number will show.

2- Only the telephone number should show up. My number is "private" on the network and in the settings on my phone, but when I text someone my telephone number does show up as the sender of the text message. When I make a phone call, then I show up as "private number" or "unknown number", but not when I text.

Cheers!
