Scroll button not working

The scroll button on my Blackberry will not work scrolling up.  Will work scrolling left right and down.  Can it be fixed.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Thanks.  Already tried to reboot.  One good thing about reboot is it takes me back to the top of the menu so I can scroll down but once at the bottom I can't go back up.

Did you install anything new just before this behavior started? A new theme? Some app? An update? The tiniest thing could be causal. If so, undo what you did and see if it's cured. If not, then consider reloading your device OS from scratch:

 

Is your BB device OS up to date? Check your carriers download site:

 

Consider warranty evaluation.

The best thing to do is to pop out the scroll and gently clean the bottom and around the connectors with a q-tip. It worked for me when I had the same problem Smiley Happy

How did you pop the button out?  Use any tools?
