Sending and Receiving Pictures in Text messages

Hello,

I recently had to buy a new smart phone, and I, as a die-hard BlackBerry fan, chose Bold 9560. It was an unlocked third party phone which works with my cell provider T-Mobile. However, I cannot neither send nor receive text messages with pictures. I have contacted T-Mobile, and they emailed me instructions on how to change my APN but it did not help. Maybe somebody knows how to enable my phone to send pictures.

Thank you.

Re: Sending and Receiving Pictures in Text messages

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

MMS (that's what "picture messaging" is) depends on your device having a proper BIS plan from your carrier. Functioning BIS requires receipt, on your device, of Service Books from your provider. The ability to deliver service books to your device depends on your device being compatible with your carriers network.

So, with all of that, I'd recommend you re-contact TMO to be sure that you meet all of those criteria...only they can tell you if your specific device model is even compatible with their data network, and further if they have configured an adequate data plan to enable MMS for you.

Good luck!
