Simple Mobile - Bberry Torch unlocked PLZ HELP!

Hows it going guys, im somewhat of a noob w/ this phone. i just bought a torch unlocked and i have simple mobile. problem is its not connecting in 3g so i basically have no data. that means no bbm! or mms! i was able to download a 3rd party web browser called opera so i can browse online with that. but thats it! does anyone out there know how to register/program my phone with my carrier (simple mobile)?????????? plz help asap! thanx!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!!

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network

2) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.


Step 1 should result in one "registered" message to your BB. Step 2 should result in one "leave messages on server" message for each configured email account. If that does not happen, then you need to contact your carrier for assistance. It is completely possible that they will not allow you to use this BB on their network with full BIS services. It is also possible that, if they do not natively support your BB model on their network, that they cannot deliver the necessary Service Books to your. BB. If that is the case, you will have to find a BB that contains the proper Service Books and migrate those to your BB...hopefully that will get things going again for you!


As you are learning, fully using a BB on a different carrier network is not simple.
