Software Froze on update

I tried to update my torch, and the update device software is frozen at connecting to device. My phone is working but all my information has been cleared since I cant get it to the restore part of the update. What can I do to get my stuff back? or fix the update?

Is this an update you're doing via the PC? If so, you can manually restore the backup file it created by using BlackBerry Desktop Software.
