Something very wrong with my Bold 9930 after newest 7.1 update

I have a Verizon Bold 9930 which I sync with a Mac.  I installed the newest update over the air.  All is working well except the "Options" and "Manage Panels" menu selections on the home screen don't work.  I select those and they simply close the menu.  Also, I can't access any of the options in the "Connections" settings page, such as "Wi-Fi Networks", "Networks and Connections", etc.  The only way I can access Wi-Fi is through "Setup".  I've already tried two battery pulls to no avail.  This is pretty serious seeing as I can't access any of the main device optiopns and it seems like a deep level problem.  Any ideas?  I tried to downgrade to an earlier 7.1 update via the Verizon carrier page but it looks like it's an EXE file that will only work with a PC.  What can I do?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

You are correct that everything on the official download portal functions only on PC...not MAC. But, in the MAC Desktop Software, you should be able to install any OS version that your carrier sanctions for your specific device. In any event, given what you describe, I recommend reloading the OS. See this procedure:

Good luck and let us know!
