Sound problem

I have a Pearl 8110.  Suddenly I am unable to hear any caller/voice message.  Sounds/loudspeaker work well enough, so does blurtooth.  I just can't listen through the phone's "ear piece".  Can you help?  Is there a mute button soemwhere or is it probable that the phone is just broken?

First thing to do, reboot the device:  With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.


Otherwise, the ear speaker might have just gone bad.
