Sprint 8330 OS Update?

Has anyone tried updating the firmware OS on a Sprint Curver 8330?  Sprint still only offers version 4.3.  Meanwhile, we purchased a 16GB MicrosSD card for the device, and while the device can save pictures to the card, the Desktop Software won't read the card.  I did download Desktop Manager 4.7 from Blackberry's site, but it still won't read the 16GB MicroSD.

From what I've read on the net, I need to update my device to OS 4.5.081.  I've found a link to the OS, but it's for a different carrier, and I'm a little weary about doing the update.   Anyway, I'm hoping that many Sprint 8330 users have performed the update without any issues, so I hope to hear back from a few.
