I have an email message in my inbox that says like this.........
and then it shows the time it was received and a yellow STAR under that.
I am not able to open this email folder or delete it or anything. How do I delete this?
Thanks for you help.

I've got what seems to be a similar problem. A few e-mail messages that I read and deleted remain on my Blackberry 9650, with a yellow star at bottom right of the subject line. There are "0 items" so deleting doesn't get rid of it. There is also a "Open Conversation" menu item that doesn't do anything. I just want to get rid of these messages with no content and yellow star.

Have you tried a battery pull? This works for the strangest issues.
With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescirbed for most gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

I just tried something. It won't help me deleting/removing starred emails, but it's been a while since I found starred email when I tried to delete one. So maybe it may help you guys:
1. Go to message folder
2. Press Menu button.
3. Select "Option".
4. Select "Email Reconciliation".
5. In Folder Management => Delete On: Select "Mailbox & Handheld"
*If you delete wrong email, you can always go to web mail and retrieve it from your trash folder.

This is embarassing: I just found something else.
One of those time came again, an email just wouldn't go away and gold star attached to it.
- So, I waited to ensure the phone coverage was good enough.
- Then, I selected "Reconcile Now".
- Next thing I knew, the problematic email disappear.
Will it work for you too?
