Re: Storage issue - Please help!

My husband has had a look at my phone and has shown "hidden" files.

device/appdata/rim/media

thumbs156x156.dat   3GB

thumbs156x156.key   33KB

thumbs640x640.dat   3GB

thumbs640x640.key    22KB

What are these? can I delete them?

I don't know about those, don't delete those just yet.

yup, as far as I can tell.

the music files were only KB not MB or GB like the other files.

no no, look at this screen shot.

what appears in that screen shot is at 30mb, along, and the whole list is not showing in that single folder.

And there are at least a dozen more folders on the left panel in that screen shot.

Re: Storage issue - Please help!

I've deleted all the music, honestly. No music left at all. The folder in that screenshot no-longer exists. But still 98% usage. So it made 1% difference deleting all my music.

There's 6GB in that hidden thumb nail folder.
My husband googled the "thumbs.dat" thing and it came up on Crackberry about it.

If I delete it then reboot it should recreate so solving the problem?

Is that right? Smiley Happy

Re: Storage issue - Please help!

Yes, delete that then.

The "thumbnail.dat" will be recreated for any pictures remaining in that drive/folder. This is why it'd be wise to store your images on the Media Card. You can get on cheap, I think 16gb on Amazon run about $20-25USD. For pictures stored on the media card, the thumbnails files will be stored on that card.
