Sycing Questions

I am a novice and just got the Curve 8330 (Sprint). No problem syncing calendar, etc. I am wondering if I can add files to the software to bring them to my BB as I was able to do with my Treo. I would like to transfew some photos from my hard drive to the phone. Thanks

Re: Sycing Questions

Connect device with cable to desktop.

When prompted on the device for Mass Storage, select Yes

Open My Computer

Open Drive labelled BlackBerry

This will be the SD Card of the Device....

Remove cable to browse the  SD Card.

Re: Sycing Questions

When I connect the BB to the desktop I do NOT get a prompt on the phone for Mass Storage. I do get a folder on my computer with a Blackberry folder. Is that the SD Card? If so, then what do I do? Thanks

Re: Sycing Questions

That would be the one...

Within the BlackBerry folder you will have Ringtones, Music, etc.

Media Card settings are found under Settings or Options | Media Card

You may Auto Enable... set to yes, hence the no prompt and also no Security Password set for the device.

Re: Sycing Questions

You mean you cannot open them at all?

And this is via My Computer | BlackBerry (Assigned Drive) | {Folder}

Perhaps, if you have nothing on the SD Card just yet...format it.

Uncable, OPen Settings/Options | Media Card | Menu: Format Card

Retry via Cable

This unlikely to resolve what I think you are meaning.

Re: Sycing Questions

No. I can open all the folders except system. They are all empty, by the way. And this is simply opening the BB folder that pops up when I plug the phone in to usb. When I go to My computer, Blackberry is not seen

Re: Sycing Questions

Check Device Management for Drive Letter Assignment...

Aslong as you view the folders you are all set.

Your folder viewis probably set to view hidden folders...Leave the system folder, there is nothing ther to fiddle with.

Copy what you require to the device, uncable and check via Media Manager.

Re: Sycing Questions

I really am sorry to be bugging you but I am not clear on exactly how to "copy" something to the device. For example, if I have a picture on my hard drive, how do I get it to the phone? Thanks for your patience!

Re: Sycing Questions

Like any copy and paste...

Right click mouse on the file want to copy thats on your hard drive and Select Copy from the Menu

Goto to the BlackBerry Folder, Open Pictures and Right click mouse and Paste.

There nothing different from copy and paste like any other folder.
