Symbol below 1XEV, a cross-hairs symbol

What does the symbol below the 1XEV, which looks like a cross-hairs or cross inside a circle, mean?

Hey, there.  That's the GPS indicator.  If you just see the "cross-hair" like you describe, it means your phone is set to E911 only, meaning, GPS is engaged only on a 911 call.  If you go into Options, Advanced Options, GPS, you can set it to Location On, and the GPS signal will remain active.  After doing this, you'll notice the icon now has three "signal waves" coming off of it.  You need to turn your GPS to Location On if you want to use such applications as Verizon Navigator for the turn-by-turn directions, etc.
