Never seen such a mixture of fonts and Simlys on a new device,

All I can suggest is , First do a Backup of your Device for help refer to this Article : How To Backup Your BlackBerry

When you're done, perform a Security wipe on your device Including all user applications , for help refer to this KB14058   . After that perform a selective restore , don't restore any applications from your backup .
