Synchronization stops at "Processing"

I've spent hours pouring over the various forums to try to figure out a solution to the problem I'm experiencing.  I am using an HP EliteBook 6930p with Windows XP SP2.  I have installed the latest version of Desktop Manager 5.0.  I have set up the software to sync my calendar and tasks.  When I click Synchronize, it pops up a window that states Processing and then immediately the windows goes away.  So, literally all it does is pop up this window for a second or less and then closes - no error message.  The synchronization does not occur.  I used this program successfully on my last HP laptop which was also running Windows XP SP2.

 

I've disabled the antivirus and that does not help.

 

I've done the clean uninstall (manual deleting of registry files).

 

I've cleared my device calendar just to see if that would help and that did not work.

 

I've reset the synchronization settings multiple times.

 

Does anybody have any insight on why this is not working?  Thank you.
