T-Mobile Curve will not make calls over wi-fi with Belkin Router

I have been dealing with tech support at every level at TMO and RIM for two long and arduous days and now they RIM is saying that there is a compatability issue with Belkin routers (mine is the N1 part# F5d8231-4) and the Curve with regards to making calls over UMA. I am told that there is no projected date on a patch of any kind.

I would expect that it is a port blocking issue for the UMA calls and would expect that getting the settings on the router right would allow it but I have not been able to get it right myself. I have turned off firewall and security to no avail. Anybody out there from Belkin that may have a clue??
